I hold a hazmat endorsement and often haul some of the raw materials used to make Pepsi Cola. Those loads are classified as “flammable” and “corrosive” (bottoms up!).

As far as I’m concerned, I really couldn’t care less what was back there and drive it exactly the same as any other load.

The only thing that I do differently, is pay closer attention to my equipment and so do the DOT cops who are responsible for the enforcement of all laws pertaining to the transportation of materials by commercial vehicles. Those placards on the sides of my trailer are like stop signs in the eyes of the DOT and I’m more likely to be pulled over for a random inspection because of it.
