This past weekend, our school’s DECA chapter took part in the highly competitive State Leadership Competition. As they faced off against over 4,000 talented students from across the state, our team displayed their exceptional skills in Marketing, Business, Finance, and Hospitality. With a record-breaking 54 students representing our school, we are thrilled to announce that they returned with a total of 50 awards! Among these accolades, Mr. Lucas was honored with the “Most Outstanding Chapter Advisor” Award. Additionally, Ariun Setty was elected to the 2023-2024 VA DECA State Action Team, securing the position of Vice President of Career Development.
Our school has much to celebrate, but we want to give a special shoutout to Patrick Lewis for winning a remarkable award that truly sets him apart. Patrick’s dedication, hard work, and passion for his chosen field have paid off, and his success serves as an inspiration to all students in our DECA chapter. Congratulations, Patrick, for your outstanding achievement!
We are also incredibly proud of Ariun Setty, who has been elected to the 2023-2024 VA DECA State Action Team. As the Vice President of Career Development, Ariun will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of DECA in our state. We have no doubt that he will excel in this position and represent our school with distinction.
The success doesn’t stop there! 15 of our students have advanced to the International Career Development Conference, which will be hosted in Orlando, Florida. This event presents a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents on a global stage and learn from the best in their fields. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for this exciting opportunity.
